I Still Havent Made My First Sale As An Affiliate Marketer

So you've been trying to struggling to make your first sale as an affiliate marketer but you still dont hear your  cash register ringing. So you say your yourself 'I still havent made my first sale as an affiliate marketer. Is Affiliate Marketing for real or what?' or 'I think this whole Affiliate  marketing thing is a sham.' Well, My research tells me that Affiliate Marketing is still alive and kicking. That people are joining the online gravy train by the day. So just to remind you, I'll  rehash the things you need to do to make your first sale in affiliate marketing

Find An Affiliate Product That Sells

Seek an affiliate product that is doing well on the market. Let's say you find a product such as Super Affiliate Handbook and you're interested in promoting it. Make sure that  you do as much research as possible about the handbook; and   get furnished with the statistics as to the marketability of the product. Once you are satisfied it's the product you want to promote, then go ahead and sign up for the affiliate program. Besides, you'll have a much easier time promoting the product since it is selling well on the market. Just make sure the product fits with the whole theme of your website/blog. If the product  promotes weight loss make sure your website/blog  conveys the same message.

Research Keywords

Research keywords and keyword phrases that people type in  search engines like google when they are looking for information pertaining to the product you're promoting..  So in other words, when they type in a  keyword phrase such as Super Affiliate Handbook , that keyword phrase should show up in the search results, assuming off course, that you chose the right keyword, or keywords..
Of course you need a keyword tool to help you with your keyword research. And one keyword researchtool that I highly recommend is Keyword NinjaIt should help you come up with more targeted keywords and keyword phrases.

Article Marketing
Article Marketing is a very effective way of drawing traffic and translating into sales. All you have to do is write informative articles relating to the product you're promoting. So If you're writing articles about weight loss just make sure it relates to your weight loss product  You need to remember that you're optimizing your keywords for each article you write such that every article must have the keywords you've selected. However, you you do need to provide valuable content for the reader in order to stand a chance of making your first sale. If you're new to article marketing, I suggest purchasing  Beginners Guide to Article Marketing . You'll learn everything there is to know about Article Marketing.

Drop Your Articles in Top Directories

Once you 're done with articles, you then distribute them  to the top article directories,. When you do that, make sure to leave your website link in the resource box section so the reader can  visit your website for additional information. Keep writing consistently and you're abound to draw traffic to your link and make your first sale too.  If you dont want to go through the stress of manually submitting your articles to one directory at a time, I suggest getting software that can help you submit your articles to all the articles directories instantly.  And one article submission software that can help you accomplish this task is Article Submitter . At the click of a button, it'll send your articles off to all the directories all at once.

To conclude, making your first sale as an affiliate marketer is exciting. But you need to follow the right steps to make that first sale. Follow the above procedures and you should make your first sale.

Target Traffic = Sales

Alright, here is the deal. Say, you're  the webmaster of an affiliate marketing site  promoting a book called Super Affiliate Handbook. You are getting decent traffic through your Affiliate Marketing  site. The problem is instead of promoting the super affiliate handbook, you are rather promoting weight products from clickbank. BIG MISTAKE! The simple formula for success in Affiliate Marketing is:  target traffic=sales.

It is absolutely paramount that you give your visitors what they want. When they visit your website/  blog, they are looking for the super affiliate handbook and other affiliate marketing products and not weight loss products. They can go to a weight loss product for that. The crucial factor here is building momentum;  you want to build on the momentum of your website/blog's content by making some sales. The last thing you want to do is to drive your visitors  away by promoting products that are not remotely connected to the content on your website. That will be the death knell to your business.

Also experiment more with the positioning of your affiliate links or banners on your blog/website. This tactic is crucial in determining  high or low your conversion rates are. You could try moving your links/banners around your website/blog to get a gauge of  the conversion rates of some of the products. Chances are some products may convert better than others. However, text links grab .excite readers and they are more likely to click on text links more so than banners. banners tend to be too loud

So remember this formula: target traffic= sales.  There are two things you need to accomplish here. Make sure  your products mirror your content and, most importantly, be sure that the products you're promoting are what they are looking for. Accomplish these two objectives and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Make Money online with residual income

Are you tired of doing working countless hours trying to make money? Do you look forward to a system where you make money even when you're sleep?  make money online with  residual income. Well, basically residual income is earning income from doing a job once. You do a job one time and get paid for it over and over again for a lifetime. Thanks to the Internet you can make money  even when you're asleep, so long as you market your product  properly.v>
Let me show you ways you can make residual income

Sell your rights to your products

This one of the fastest growing residual income programs on the Internet. Basically, you write an ebook on your favorite topic, then you sell the rights to people online so that they can generate income from the sales. This generates residual income for you as you charge them a percentage of the sales that they generate. Or you can also sell them the license  to sell your product within a specified time frame and earn residual income as they renew their license. Even better, you can sell your rights to your book to numerous people simultaneously, generating more residual income at no cost at all.

Two Tier Affiliate Programs
This is also another popular way of making residual income and the easiest. As an affiliate, you'll be promoting other people's products such as Super Affiliate Handbook  and earn a commission for each sale you generate. However, in a two tier affiliate program, not only will you be earning on your own sales, but you will also be earning on the sales of affiliates that sign up under you. For instance, if you earn 50% on your personal sales, you can earn an additional 20%  on sales of affiliates that sign up under you. The more affiliates you bring in, the more residual income you generate, possibly surpassing your own income.

Pay Per Click Ads

This is probably the easiest way to make money online. Basically you place advertisers ads similar to the content on your websites and each time visitors click on the ad you earn revenue for those clicks. The most popular pay per click program is Google Adsense. Just sign your blog or website on the Adsense program at google.com/adsense. And it's free.

Try Text Links Instead of Banners

I was browsing this affiliate forum the other day when I saw this question from a member of the group which basically said"I've had 1000 clicks on my affiliate site but no sales. My mind tells me that I've had sales because I have so many banners on my site." Solution: Try text links instead of banners.

People are after content and the last thing they want is the distraction of banners plastered all over the site. Anything that distracts their search for information and they are off to the next site. Also, banners make your site look unprofessional. They create this video arcade effect with with flashing lights and bells all over the place. Besides,The click rate for banners is less than 6% , although this gentlemen is fortunate. I wish I had 1000 clicks on my banners. This is not to say that banners are not effective. Just don't make them the end all be all of your site promotion campaign.

Wanna know the best solution?

Try Text Links
Try embedding affiliate text links into your content. Your chances of earning commissions are much higher. Readers are more likely to click on your affiliate text link embedded in the content than clicking banners plastered all over the site. Just put some quality content on your site and in the midst of the content , embed your affiliate link. Once your visitors take a liking to your content, they are more likely to click on your affiliate link. You can also place it at the end of the content if you like, but personally I prefer it the link in the middle. Make sure that the content relates to the affiliate link. You cant have an affiliate site promoting weight loss with an affiliate link for a forex company. That would definitely send your visitors somewhere else.  Since this blog is about Affiliate blogging,  how about inserting Rosalind Gardner's Super  Affiliate Handbook? It's a must have for  affiliate marketers of all levels.

So as you can see from above, text links will get you you more prosperity than banners. Banners make for too much noise and chaos. They'll definitely cause your visitors to hit the click button in a canter. So think text links at all times.

10 Reasons to Have an Ezine

  1.   Establish yourself as a trusted expert. People search online for information and will look to you, as a trusted  expert, to provide it to them. Every week (or whatever schedule works) provides an opportunity to build on this, while reinforcing your brand.
  2. Build a relationship with the people on your list. It's common knowledge that people like to buy from people they like. By using ezines to connect with readers in their homes, you can develop a relationship of familiarity and trust with the people on your list.. Be sure to share a little about yourself or your company in every issue, whether it is an anecdote, event, or employee spotlight.
  3. Keep in touch with prospects and clients. Consideration should be given to eventually developing two ezines: one for prospects and one for clients, as each require different information. This is a great way to notify your readers of weekly specials or upcoming product launches, offer new articles or customer stories, and provide links (or urls) to updated FAQs, blogs and splash pages.
  4. Drive traffic to your website or blog. As noted in #3, remember to call attention to new blog posts or other changes to your website with links directly to those pages. Remind readers of your online newsletter archives. Promote special sales (maybe with discount coupon codes only for subscribers) with a link to the sales page. Use links to turn your ezines and newsletters into "silent salespersons"– driving traffic to your website and building your lists around the clock.
  5. Build content on your website. Build content on your website by  adding your ezines and newsletters to your website in an archive area. This serves a several important purposes:
    • Visitors can read an issue or two to determine if your ezine will be of interest to them, which could help to increase sign-ups and potential sales.
    • If you optimize your article placements, you will not only make your website "meatier", but you'll also bring new traffic from the search engines.
  6. Get feedback from your readers. Get feedback from your customers  by staying  in touch with prospects and customers and vice versa. Ask them to take action and comment on your articles and offers. Conduct polls and surveys. Start a "Letters to the Editor" column in your ezine. Feedback allows you to fine tune your messages, target your marketing, and expand your product line. It's also great for relationship building!
  7. Develop an information product. If you deliver your newsletter once a week and include two articles, at the end of a year you'll have 104 well-researched articles in your portfolio! Pick the best-of-the-best and turn them into a bonus ebook for opting-in to your list, submit to download sites to build your list, or sell in PDF-format!
  8. Grow your mailing list. Grow your mailing list by letting your ezine subscribers work for you. Be sure to remind your readers that it's okay to forward your newsletter to anyone they'd like. In addition, it's important to include sign-up instructions for those who received your ezine from viral marketing methods. A simple line titled, "Get Your Own Copy of XXXXXX", with a link to your squeeze or opt-in page is all it takes!
  9. Gather demographic data. By offering surveys, feedback forms, and niche reports, you'll be able to get valuable information about your prospects and customers. Learn what makes your readers tick, how to better serve them, and how to give them what they want. Make sure they become repeat customers!
  10. Save money! All of the above benefits of publishing an ezine are free or almost free. The small cost of a top-rated ezine publishing system is nothing compared to the cost of brochures, business cards, advertising, direct mail, pay-per-click or other means of promotion. Not only that, but someone has to manage that production! Because your newsletter is delivered online, you can grow your list to be as large as you want without worrying about the expense. Bottom line − it's proven that email marketing is the most cost-effective marketing solution for companies just like yours!

15 Ways to Buld Your Subscriber List

Email marketing can be profitable for any business, no matter what kind of product or service you offer. It is significantly cheaper than other advertising methods and, if done right, helps build loyalty and trust with customers. As a result, you generate more sales and more profits!
The foundation for successful email marketing is a targeted, permission-based email list. Marketers call contact lists their "goldmine" because it can generate much of their sales revenue. If you've built up a list of opt-in subscribers that are qualified and interested in what you have to offer, then you've completed the first step and are on your way. Now it's time to "mine" for gold!
Below  are 15 ways to build your subscriber list.
  1. Provide useful, relevant content. Your visitors will not give you their email addresses just because they can subscribe to your newsletter free of charge. You have to provide unique and valuable content that will be of interest or use to them.
  2. Add a subscription form to every page on your website. Make sure  that the subscription form stands out so it is easy to find. If it doesn't look cluttered, you may want to include more than one on some pages. For instance, if your opt-in form always appears in the top-left corner of your site, you may want to add one at the end of your most popular articles.
  3. Add subscription forms to your social media pages. Make sure that you don't waste this valuable source of revenue opportunities. Integrate your sign-up forms with Facebook and more!
  4. Make it easy for readers to sign up. The more information you request, the fewer readers  will opt-in. In most cases, a name and an email address should suffice. If it's not necessary, don't include it here. You can always survey them once they're customers! We do recommend that you provide a link to your Privacy Policy however.
  5. Publish a Privacy Policy. Let your readers know that they can be confident you will not share their information with others. The easiest way to do this is to set up a Privacy Policy web page and provide the link to it below your opt-in form. (Note: If you don't have one, put the words "privacy policy generator" into a search engine and you should be able to find a suitable form to use.)
  6. Provide samples of your newsletters and Ezines. This lets potential subscribers review yoursamples before they sign up to determine if it's something they'd be interested in.
  7. Archive past newsletters and articles. An online library of past newsletters and articles is both appealing and useful to visitors and builds your credibility as an authority. In addition, if your articles are written with good SEO techniques in mind, they can increase traffic to your website through enhanced search engine positioning.
  8. Give gifts subscribers can actually use. Offer  opt-in gifts for joining your subscriber list! Write an ebook or provide a PDF business report, or even hire a programmer to create downloadable or web-based software. But don't limit yourself to offering gifts to opt-ins. Give them out when your readers fill out a survey, provide a testimonial, success story, or a great product idea. Let them know when they can expect the next gift offer. Everyone likes to get something for free! And if you pass out "goodies" throughout the year, your subscribers will feel truly appreciated − and that's good for business!
  9. Ask your subscribers to pass it on. Word of mouth is a powerful viral technique that works great with email marketing. If your subscribers find your content interesting, amusing or informative, they'll probably pass it on  with their friends. This can be a great source of new customers, so make sure to remind them to "pass it on".
  10. Let others reprint your newsletter as long as the content is not modified. If you're happy to share your content with the universe, then why not! Many webmasters and newsletter publishers are actively looking for high-quality content and, if they reprint your newsletter, you'll get new subscribers, and more traffic and links pointing to your site.
  11. Include a "Sign Up" button in your newsletter. If you're using plain text instead of HTML, be sure to provide a text link to your subscription page. You may feel that this is not required because the subscriber is already on your list, but remember that readers will forward your newsletters to others, or reprint them online. Make it easy for them to sign up.
  12. Add a squeeze page. A squeeze page has one goal − to acquire opt-ins and build your list. Think of it as a mini-sales letter to go along with your subscription or opt-in gift. It should feature a strong headline and a couple of powerful benefits that should make subscribers salivate to sign up! Once created, use a service such as WordTracker to find hundreds of targeted keywords, and promote your offer using pay-per-click advertising from Google, MSN and Yahoo. Now that should make a splash!
  13. Include testimonials on your squeeze page. This is crucial. Put one or two strong testimonials from satisfied customers on your squeeze page. This can be in any format, but you may find that multimedia (audio or video) is more "believable" and inspires more people to action. To further enhance believability, get permission to use actual customer names, locations and/or urls (Don't use "Bob K, FL"). Add a note inviting others to participate. After all, it's free publicity!
  14. Blog religiously. Blogging is a great way to communicate with prospects and potential customers, and creates a nice synergy with your email marketing. Be sure to include your newsletter sign-up form on each page of your blog. You can start a free blog at Blogger or WordPress.
  15. Post on other blogs. Post thoughtful comments and information on similar blogs with a link to your squeeze or opt-in pages. Also comment on others' blogs through trackbacks. In most cases, your comments will be posted on their blogs with a link back to your site. This is an easy way to generate new traffic and subscribers, and get your brand out there!
