Try Text Links Instead of Banners

I was browsing this affiliate forum the other day when I saw this question from a member of the group which basically said"I've had 1000 clicks on my affiliate site but no sales. My mind tells me that I've had sales because I have so many banners on my site." Solution: Try text links instead of banners.

People are after content and the last thing they want is the distraction of banners plastered all over the site. Anything that distracts their search for information and they are off to the next site. Also, banners make your site look unprofessional. They create this video arcade effect with with flashing lights and bells all over the place. Besides,The click rate for banners is less than 6% , although this gentlemen is fortunate. I wish I had 1000 clicks on my banners. This is not to say that banners are not effective. Just don't make them the end all be all of your site promotion campaign.

Wanna know the best solution?

Try Text Links
Try embedding affiliate text links into your content. Your chances of earning commissions are much higher. Readers are more likely to click on your affiliate text link embedded in the content than clicking banners plastered all over the site. Just put some quality content on your site and in the midst of the content , embed your affiliate link. Once your visitors take a liking to your content, they are more likely to click on your affiliate link. You can also place it at the end of the content if you like, but personally I prefer it the link in the middle. Make sure that the content relates to the affiliate link. You cant have an affiliate site promoting weight loss with an affiliate link for a forex company. That would definitely send your visitors somewhere else.  Since this blog is about Affiliate blogging,  how about inserting Rosalind Gardner's Super  Affiliate Handbook? It's a must have for  affiliate marketers of all levels.

So as you can see from above, text links will get you you more prosperity than banners. Banners make for too much noise and chaos. They'll definitely cause your visitors to hit the click button in a canter. So think text links at all times.

10 Reasons to Have an Ezine

  1.   Establish yourself as a trusted expert. People search online for information and will look to you, as a trusted  expert, to provide it to them. Every week (or whatever schedule works) provides an opportunity to build on this, while reinforcing your brand.
  2. Build a relationship with the people on your list. It's common knowledge that people like to buy from people they like. By using ezines to connect with readers in their homes, you can develop a relationship of familiarity and trust with the people on your list.. Be sure to share a little about yourself or your company in every issue, whether it is an anecdote, event, or employee spotlight.
  3. Keep in touch with prospects and clients. Consideration should be given to eventually developing two ezines: one for prospects and one for clients, as each require different information. This is a great way to notify your readers of weekly specials or upcoming product launches, offer new articles or customer stories, and provide links (or urls) to updated FAQs, blogs and splash pages.
  4. Drive traffic to your website or blog. As noted in #3, remember to call attention to new blog posts or other changes to your website with links directly to those pages. Remind readers of your online newsletter archives. Promote special sales (maybe with discount coupon codes only for subscribers) with a link to the sales page. Use links to turn your ezines and newsletters into "silent salespersons"– driving traffic to your website and building your lists around the clock.
  5. Build content on your website. Build content on your website by  adding your ezines and newsletters to your website in an archive area. This serves a several important purposes:
    • Visitors can read an issue or two to determine if your ezine will be of interest to them, which could help to increase sign-ups and potential sales.
    • If you optimize your article placements, you will not only make your website "meatier", but you'll also bring new traffic from the search engines.
  6. Get feedback from your readers. Get feedback from your customers  by staying  in touch with prospects and customers and vice versa. Ask them to take action and comment on your articles and offers. Conduct polls and surveys. Start a "Letters to the Editor" column in your ezine. Feedback allows you to fine tune your messages, target your marketing, and expand your product line. It's also great for relationship building!
  7. Develop an information product. If you deliver your newsletter once a week and include two articles, at the end of a year you'll have 104 well-researched articles in your portfolio! Pick the best-of-the-best and turn them into a bonus ebook for opting-in to your list, submit to download sites to build your list, or sell in PDF-format!
  8. Grow your mailing list. Grow your mailing list by letting your ezine subscribers work for you. Be sure to remind your readers that it's okay to forward your newsletter to anyone they'd like. In addition, it's important to include sign-up instructions for those who received your ezine from viral marketing methods. A simple line titled, "Get Your Own Copy of XXXXXX", with a link to your squeeze or opt-in page is all it takes!
  9. Gather demographic data. By offering surveys, feedback forms, and niche reports, you'll be able to get valuable information about your prospects and customers. Learn what makes your readers tick, how to better serve them, and how to give them what they want. Make sure they become repeat customers!
  10. Save money! All of the above benefits of publishing an ezine are free or almost free. The small cost of a top-rated ezine publishing system is nothing compared to the cost of brochures, business cards, advertising, direct mail, pay-per-click or other means of promotion. Not only that, but someone has to manage that production! Because your newsletter is delivered online, you can grow your list to be as large as you want without worrying about the expense. Bottom line − it's proven that email marketing is the most cost-effective marketing solution for companies just like yours!

15 Ways to Buld Your Subscriber List

Email marketing can be profitable for any business, no matter what kind of product or service you offer. It is significantly cheaper than other advertising methods and, if done right, helps build loyalty and trust with customers. As a result, you generate more sales and more profits!
The foundation for successful email marketing is a targeted, permission-based email list. Marketers call contact lists their "goldmine" because it can generate much of their sales revenue. If you've built up a list of opt-in subscribers that are qualified and interested in what you have to offer, then you've completed the first step and are on your way. Now it's time to "mine" for gold!
Below  are 15 ways to build your subscriber list.
  1. Provide useful, relevant content. Your visitors will not give you their email addresses just because they can subscribe to your newsletter free of charge. You have to provide unique and valuable content that will be of interest or use to them.
  2. Add a subscription form to every page on your website. Make sure  that the subscription form stands out so it is easy to find. If it doesn't look cluttered, you may want to include more than one on some pages. For instance, if your opt-in form always appears in the top-left corner of your site, you may want to add one at the end of your most popular articles.
  3. Add subscription forms to your social media pages. Make sure that you don't waste this valuable source of revenue opportunities. Integrate your sign-up forms with Facebook and more!
  4. Make it easy for readers to sign up. The more information you request, the fewer readers  will opt-in. In most cases, a name and an email address should suffice. If it's not necessary, don't include it here. You can always survey them once they're customers! We do recommend that you provide a link to your Privacy Policy however.
  5. Publish a Privacy Policy. Let your readers know that they can be confident you will not share their information with others. The easiest way to do this is to set up a Privacy Policy web page and provide the link to it below your opt-in form. (Note: If you don't have one, put the words "privacy policy generator" into a search engine and you should be able to find a suitable form to use.)
  6. Provide samples of your newsletters and Ezines. This lets potential subscribers review yoursamples before they sign up to determine if it's something they'd be interested in.
  7. Archive past newsletters and articles. An online library of past newsletters and articles is both appealing and useful to visitors and builds your credibility as an authority. In addition, if your articles are written with good SEO techniques in mind, they can increase traffic to your website through enhanced search engine positioning.
  8. Give gifts subscribers can actually use. Offer  opt-in gifts for joining your subscriber list! Write an ebook or provide a PDF business report, or even hire a programmer to create downloadable or web-based software. But don't limit yourself to offering gifts to opt-ins. Give them out when your readers fill out a survey, provide a testimonial, success story, or a great product idea. Let them know when they can expect the next gift offer. Everyone likes to get something for free! And if you pass out "goodies" throughout the year, your subscribers will feel truly appreciated − and that's good for business!
  9. Ask your subscribers to pass it on. Word of mouth is a powerful viral technique that works great with email marketing. If your subscribers find your content interesting, amusing or informative, they'll probably pass it on  with their friends. This can be a great source of new customers, so make sure to remind them to "pass it on".
  10. Let others reprint your newsletter as long as the content is not modified. If you're happy to share your content with the universe, then why not! Many webmasters and newsletter publishers are actively looking for high-quality content and, if they reprint your newsletter, you'll get new subscribers, and more traffic and links pointing to your site.
  11. Include a "Sign Up" button in your newsletter. If you're using plain text instead of HTML, be sure to provide a text link to your subscription page. You may feel that this is not required because the subscriber is already on your list, but remember that readers will forward your newsletters to others, or reprint them online. Make it easy for them to sign up.
  12. Add a squeeze page. A squeeze page has one goal − to acquire opt-ins and build your list. Think of it as a mini-sales letter to go along with your subscription or opt-in gift. It should feature a strong headline and a couple of powerful benefits that should make subscribers salivate to sign up! Once created, use a service such as WordTracker to find hundreds of targeted keywords, and promote your offer using pay-per-click advertising from Google, MSN and Yahoo. Now that should make a splash!
  13. Include testimonials on your squeeze page. This is crucial. Put one or two strong testimonials from satisfied customers on your squeeze page. This can be in any format, but you may find that multimedia (audio or video) is more "believable" and inspires more people to action. To further enhance believability, get permission to use actual customer names, locations and/or urls (Don't use "Bob K, FL"). Add a note inviting others to participate. After all, it's free publicity!
  14. Blog religiously. Blogging is a great way to communicate with prospects and potential customers, and creates a nice synergy with your email marketing. Be sure to include your newsletter sign-up form on each page of your blog. You can start a free blog at Blogger or WordPress.
  15. Post on other blogs. Post thoughtful comments and information on similar blogs with a link to your squeeze or opt-in pages. Also comment on others' blogs through trackbacks. In most cases, your comments will be posted on their blogs with a link back to your site. This is an easy way to generate new traffic and subscribers, and get your brand out there!

Dont Put all Your Eggs in One Basket

So you're getting this huge paycheck from probably the one and only affiliate marketing program. And u think "well, I don't need to sign up for any other affiliate programs. I'll live on this paycheck." Wrong decision. Don't put all your eggs in one basket The internet is very unpredictable in this regard. So many things could unravel all the hard work, blood and sweat you've put into your affiliate website all these years.

This phenomenon occurs due to the following reasons:

  • Your favorite merchant going bust
  • Your one and only hosting company goes bust leaving you with nothing
  • demand for your affiliate product dries up
  • You lose your search engine rankings due to unexpected changes in the search engine
So how do you avoid such a catastrophe?
  • Choose at 5  good affiliate programs for starters. The likelihood of all these programs collapsing is significantly reduced.
  • VARY your affiliate programs among different industry goods to prevent unforeseen calamities hitting all of them at the same time
  • Register for two or more domains so that if one collapses, you have the other for backup
  • Diversify your traffic options. Try pay per click, classifieds, e.tc. Don't depend on one source of traffic.
I suggest you read  Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook.  It contains valuable information on how to get around this problem and much more. So  dont put all your eggs in one basket

Happy hunting!

How to find the right affiliate marketing programs

If you want to make those thousands of dollars promoting affiliate products, make sure you find the right affiliate programs. But the big question is how? Here is how to find the right affiliate marketing programs.
  • Huge commission. Consider the dollar amount you get paid for each commission. At first glance, it may seem like a good deal, but it's not always the case. A lower commission on a high-priced product may make you more money than a higher commission on a low-priced product
Also consider number of sales. Is the product going to boom or bust?
  • One-tier versus two-tier programs. with a one-tier program, you're only paid for product sale you refer. But in a two- tier program, not only do you get paid for product sales that you refer, you also get paid for a percentage of sales that "sub-affiliates who sign up under you. How sweet that sounds?
  • Residual income commissions. Residual  commissions are commissions paid by affiliate programs offering what are called 'renewable products.' Meaning that you receive a commission each time a customer comes back to buy the same product, you still get paid. Instead of getting paid for the initial sale, you 'll get paid each times he comes back to buy the same product. It all adds up for you in a big way.
  • Payout schedule. Make sure the merchants you represent pay on time. Some programs only cut a check at a specific. time. Some companies take months to pay you when you earn a huge commission, if you're uncomfortable with that, find an affiliate program that can make you comfortable regardless of the size of your commission.
  • Cookie Tracking. Cookies are small files with your affiliate ID located on your visitors' computers. Anytime a customer purchases a product, you're immediately credited for the sale through the cookie tracking system. The length of cookie tracking varies from program to program. So make sure you find programs that have long cookie tracking periods.

Money Techniques for becoming a Super Affiliate

I'm sure most of you have seen so many success stories of Affiliate Markets over the net. So many times you hear of someone like Rosalind Gardner making $1000 within the space of a few hours. For your information she happens to be the author of  the best selling  Super Affiliate Handbook .You're probably wondering to your self"How  do people like her make this kind of money? Is there a a magic wand that they use to make this kind of money?

In fairy tales maybe, but not the real world. People like like Rosalind Gardner have been working so hard to the point that they've literally become experts in their chosen niches! They're the type of people whose names come to mind when you mention a specific niche. They've literally become the celebrities of their niches. No, I'm not referring to celebrities like Tom Cruise or Will Smith(Who wouldnt like to have their looks). By celebrities, I mean they are at the top of the food chain as far as looking for expert sound bytes are concerned. If you want an opinion or statements on the latest Internet Market technologies, you can be sure to expect an authoritative response from them. So, what does it take to become an expert affiliate.

Passion

First and formost, you must have a passion for Affiliate Marketing. you must eat, drink, sleep, digest, and dream Affiliate Marketing. It must be part of your daily diet. You need to spend as much time as possible reading and researching. It's the only way you're going to stay on top of your game.

Read a Lot
Yes, , read a lot. Make the bookshop your second home. Buy as many books on the Internet as possible so as to stay abreast on the latest changes in your niche. You would also do well to surf the net as much as possible for news related to your industry, and most importantly, subscribe to as many ezines and newsletters as possible just to see what your competition is up to.

Make yourself seen at as many workshops as possible. this is quite crucial as you could learn alot from those already in the business. Almost on a reguar basis, workshops on Affiliate Marketing are happening. If you can't make it physically, there are teleseminars to your rescue. these are seminars that you view on your computer screen, and most importantly, you can also interact with the speakers as well, so you wont miss out at all.

Another good source of information gathering are forums. There you can find out some of the common problems affiliates like yourself face or you could discuss the latest trends in the Affiliate Marketing Industry. You could even do link exchanges with some of the forum members, a sure way of establishing business links.

Branding

One valuable technique is name branding. This can be done through the domain of your website, which takes a while to achieve. Through Branding, you achieve much higher notoriety, which of course translates into cash. This can be done through, motivational speeches, free advice, or any iother form of information-sharing. You definitely want to set aside a lot of time during the week if you want to be a success.

Write Write Write

Write, Write , Write. I know people find it cumbersome, but there are those out there who will want to take advantage of your expertise. This way, they can also learn from you. You can post your articles at http://www.ezinearticles.com and http://www.articlemap.com.

How to generate content

Alright, here is the scenario. You're an affiliate newbie just starting out. After weeks of scratching your head trying to figure out a niche to work in, you've finally found one. Except for one teeny tiny problem. You don't know how to generate content. You've thought about doing this yourself, but you said to yourself "nah it'll take too long." You've considered hiring a ghost writer, but he's completely outside your budget. You feel like screaming "SOMEONE HELP ME!!!" But dont worry. help is on the way.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you'll be better off writing some of the articles yourself. I say this because you want to put your personality and your voice in those articles. Some of you are probably saying to yourselves, "well, is the formula for doing all this?" No. You just do it . Do it as if you're discussing your article with a friend. Pretend as if the person has no idea as to what it is you are talking about. Dont worry about the form- just get your thoughts down. Once you've got this process covered, then you polish it up. Just leave as much of your personality in the article as possible.

If you're still insistent on getting outside help Try reprinting articles of ezines. Just type artiles in Google, and in return you get a long list of ezines parading articles for free. The only catch is that you acknowledge the author of the article or the ezine where you sourced it from. If you still want to employ the services of a ghostwriter(that phrase again!), feel free to do so. just make sure that he writes your articles in the same style. Another effective method of generating content is through the use of RSS feeds. The content changes daily such that you have enough content on your website. Chek this link out(
http://ezinearticles.com/?Displaying-RSS-Feeds-...age&id=153289 )

You can also try elance.com where there are numerous writers looking for writing jobs. Most people don't pay more than $20.00. What you do is post about three artilces on the elance website for starters untiil you find a writer that you like. then you go for bigger batches and negotiate a discount with one of them.

Follow these tips and you're sure to reach the Promised Land.

Mistakes Affiliates should avoid

A lot of newbies get reall giddy by the mere mention of making money on the net. Mention Affiliate Marketing and they are already visualizing tons of money, lots of houses, cars, days of lazying about on the beach. Now I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with these fantasies; I'd say everybody should pursue these dreams. The problem is s0 many newbies pursue these dreams the wrong way and up frstrated to the point of giving up. Obviously the testimonies of successful affiliates have lead these newbies to get the impression that Affiliate Marketing is a walk in the park. In fact, it's not. It takes a lot of hard work, sweat and tears to get to the promised land. Now to make less complicated for Affiliates hoping to reach the promised land I'm going to catalogue a list of mistakes that aspiring affiliates need to avoid while they try to navigate the Affiliate landscape.

First of, avoid what most people would call "information overload". You, Affilliate newbies need to understand just about every body on the net claims t have the best formula to Internet success. The problem is you're bombarded with so much information that your mind becomes easily distracted and sluggish that you won't be able to recognize the best method out there even if it was presented to you. So basicall Try not to learn everything at the same time. Pace yourself. Most importantly, research the ideas and see whether they work or not. And if one of them does work then you put it to work.

Second up, Dont' dare sit back when the money starts flowing. This is one tragic mistake a lot of of newbies make. Once the money starts flowing, they say to themselves"We've arrived". That's your mind trying to fool you here. The fact that the money has started flowing is more reason to intensify your aggression. If one income tream dries up. You have to move on to the next stream, and the next stream until you reach permanent stability. Apply this tactic even when one stream is working; the trick is to diversify as much as possible.

Thirdly, and this is quite crucial, Dont' postpone till tomorrow what you can do today. So many newbies get something figured out in their heads, then , all of a sudden they take a break. Instead of acting on it there and then, they postpone til tthe following day. This breaks your momentum and also wastes time. You waste time. and you give your competition the edge.

So take heed of these warnings and you'll be sure to reach the promised land.

Happy Hunting

Ways to Keep Visitors At Your Website

The more time people spend at your web site, the
more time you'll have to persuade them to buy your
product or service. Below are ten powerful ways to
keep visitors at your web site longer.

1. Provide your web site visitors with content they
can't read anywhere else. People will stay longer at
your web site to read the original content.

2. Remind your web site visitors they can print out
your content. They may browse around your online
store while it's printing.

3. Offer your web site visitors a freebie if they take
the time to fill out your online survey. They'll be at
the site longer and might buy something afterwards.

4. Offer your visitors free software that they can
download right from your web site. While they are
waiting they might read your ad.

5. Provide a huge online directory of information
that your visitors could search. The directory must
contain information your visitors would want.

6. Make sure all your web pages load fast or your
visitors will leave fast. Time is precious; they won't
waste it waiting for your site to load.

7. Tell your visitors what's offered at your web site
at the very beginning. If people are confused about
what's being offered they may leave too early.

8. Publish your web site professionally. People will
get turned off and leave if they see a lot of spelling
and grammar mistakes.

9. Make your site text easy to read. Most people
won't strain their eyes trying to read text that is too
small, light or bright.

10. Use headlines and sub headlines all over your
your web site that will grab visitors attention. It will
attract them to explore your web site longer.

What Makes Affiliates Suceed in Affiliate Marketing?

I was listening in on the discuss fourm of a very popular affiliate Website when my attention was drawn to an interesting question posted by one of the form members. And the question went like this: "Why do some people make $100,000 in little time while some people who have been it montha and months make just one hundred dollars?

I was like 'hmmm.' This is a huge topic. There could be several reasons why people do not succeed in affiliate marketing.' However, I have decided to do something different today. Instead of giving reasons why people do not succeed in affiliate marketing, I'm going to focus why people succeed in affiliate marketing. First, I believe people suceed in affiliate marketing because they master the basics first. Instead of jumping on the 'get rich quick' bandwagon, they'd rather lay the foundation. This is accomplished using various tools such as research, reading lots of ebooks, e.t.c. They lay down the foundation before moving on to bigger things. Most importantly, they learn as they grow. Probably the most basic aspect of an affiliate's success is his website. He builds a genuinely useful website and promotes it. He then earns revenue from affilliate programs, contextual advertisng programs such as Adsense, and a newsletter. Most importantly, he tries to give the audience, or the visitors, information that woeld be of use to them instead of focusing on himself.

Another important reason why people succeed in Affiliate Marketing is that inner belief in themselves. Deep inside their souls, they believe they can succeed. Often times, people tend to discourage us saying that there is no way you can do it . Affiliates have that self conficence that they can suceed in this industry. They have that 'go getter' mentality, that whatever anybody says to discourage them, they can turn all that negativity to their advantage. And one ingredient that helps them negate all that negativity is attitude. They exude so much positivity, a major ingredient in this industry. While there are so many peaks, there are a lot of valleys, and as long as you stay afloat you'll come out on top.

Also, successful affiliates set themselves reasonable goals. They set themselves targets they they can reach. An Affiliate starting out will not set himself a target of amillion dollars especially when his reputation si not that strong. He could start with, say $30,000 for week. Once he accomplishes this target, then he moves up and up to the point that he actually makes more money than he can . Successful affiliates also set goals as far the workload is concerned. Instead of working numerous hours they cut them graduallly. The logic is 'why should I spend 12 hours struggling to make money when I could do make tons within a few hours. ?" This, of course comes with lots of research. By mastering the basics and the various techniques, he can now affod the luxury of going on vacation for a year while tons of cash rolls in daily.

Lastly, successful affiliates learn from the experts. They read up on as many sucess stories as possible and apply what they've learnt They don't necessarily have to appy all of them but they do choose what works for them. Besides, with the internet constantly changing, sucessful affiliates have to constantly be on their game if they really want to suceed, and the best way to do that is to learn from the best

happy hunting.

First of all, You need to come up with a plan. You need to ask yourself, "Where Do I see myself, say five years from now? " You see, there is more online marketing than ,merely designing a website. You need to design an online business that will not cause you tos ay"Oh where is my next pay cheque coming from?" You should design a business that will make you enjoy life more. You should be able to wake up each morning with a bright smile on your face. Most importantly, do not burden yourself with too many tedious tasks. If that's your intention, delegate.

Probably the most important thing about designing an online business is considering your strengths and interests. This very important because as the famous old saying goes, "Life is too short." Why continue wasting away at a 'dead end job' you don't enjoy doing anymore instead of doing something you reall enjoy. And If you're not sure of what your strengths and weaknesses are, pick the brains of several family members and friends and get to them to list what they think are your strengths and weaknes them. Based on their feed back, you then proceeed to build your business. If you don't have any, and you're the type who likes to watch TV all day, Start now before end up poor.

If you're looking for a perfect way to make money, promote products that pay residual lifetime commissions. Inthis scenario, you get paid each time, you refer a customer to the merchant or the company you're representing. . In fact it's probably the most popular money - making tool on the Internet. Your customers becomes yours for life in that their continuous patronage of your products guarantees you a lifetime of riches. Unlike, other affiliate programs, you only have to do the work once.

You can also promote your products by starting a newsletter. This is very important because through the newsletter you create trust between you and the customers, and once they trust the product you're pormoting they'll keep coming back for more. Also, the newsletter whets the customers' anticipation because each month or each week, they'll be looking forward to more information from you.

While planning your site, find a niche that you're comfortable with and put all your energies into it. Do as much research as possible about that niche and find out what the target audience wants or are interested in. By target audience , I mean the audience you're trying to reach out to. There is no set time frame for this stage but usually 6 months to a year will ber an ideal time to get to know your audience. Once you've gained enough experience you can then go on and buy "failed websites" ie websites whose owners have given up on them, and turn them into success stories.
Last, and most important, keep it simple . It's good to do research but please don't overdo it. Someone of us come up with these elaborate 10 year plans and up getting stuck in a rut permanently. If you're one of those DESIST NOW. Star with a simple website that will bring you income regularly . The easiest route for most people is through affiliate programs and Adsense. Also, please don't rush, You may harbour ambitions of being the Bill Gates of Internet Marketing, but you do need to do your internship first by creating a simple website in a niche that is not too competitive. If you do all the right things you should generate income for years to come from this simple site

How to turn Hobby into a Website

1. Write Articles on your chosen subject and introduce browsers to webistes which have information on on the subject matter
2. You can write ebooks on your subject matter. Let's say you're interested video games, you can write an ebook on video games, and also direct enthusiasts to websites which sell video games.
3. Sticking to the video games example, if you have a website, and I assume most of you have one, you can buy the video games and resell them on your website.
4. You can also join affiliate programs selling video games , and you get paid a commission each time a client makes a purchase on your website.
5. You can also design your website around other hobbies both for information and to earn money.

How to get hundreds of visitors to your website

1. Form joint ventures - partners can generate well in excess of 500 visitors to your site in one day. Partner promotions can vary from 40-50 visitors to well into the hundreds. In any case, you should aim to be constantly finding partners who will promote your site and products. Ideally, you want a mix of one-time promotions but also those who will place longer term promotions such as links, banners or repeat promotion to keep some consistency in your traffic.
2. Keep writing and submitting articles. Each article may only bring in a few visitors each day - but you will find over time some get picked up more widely or end up higher in the search engines bringing you much more traffic.

3. Start a blog - great search engine food and if you submit to the better blog directories, you will get a good deal of traffic some bloggers attract as much 10,000 visitors each month

How to Make Money on Line

Why do most people fail online? Why do they never make any money? It’s because they think about money first and about their customers last. They create a few pages, stuff them with affiliate links and ads and then they wait for the money to roll in -- usually they wait forever. Here is a simple formula to build a successful money-making online business:* Carefully research several niches before choosing a theme for your site. You should be passionate about the subject and there must be a hungry market for it.* Start building valuable content for both, your site visitors and the search engines.* Build more content, distribute articles, participate in targeted forums... this allows you to establish yourself as the expert in your field, to win the trust of your audience and to attract free, targeted traffic from the search engines.* Add new marketing strategies. Publish an e-zine to build your customer base, to establishes yourself as the expert in your niche, to gain trust...* Once you have a site of at least 40 content pages with at least 50 unique visitors per day, start monetizing: Add affiliate links, Google AdSense, sell your products or services...It just doesn’t make any sense trying to monetize your site, as long as you have only a few visitors. Who do you want to sell to? Instead, focus on building more content, driving traffic, building your list...Follow the "Content - Traffic - Trust - Monetize Traffic" formula and you can’t fail:* Build valuable content for your visitors and optimize it for the search engines.* After some time, the search engines will start sending you free, targeted traffic -- traffic that will steadily increase.* Provide valuable, problem-solving information. This allows you to build a relationship of trust with your audience and they will be more than happy to buy your products, follow your recommendations...* Ok, now and only now it’s time to monetize traffic: Place your affiliate links and Google ads, sell your own products...Monetization comes last in the process of building your online business.. First, you should create valuable content, you generate traffic, you gain the trust of your visitors and only then it makes sense to monetize your site traffic.

Tips For Affiliate Success

For all you guys who think that Internet Marketing is a 'get rich quick business' think again. I read an interview of Jeremy Palmer, the richest affiliate on the net at the moment. He grossed $ One million in commissions alone last year- a whopping amount isn't it? However, if you think he made this money the easy way , here are a few suggestions he proposed about how to be successful in this business.

  • Build highly targeted websites around merchant products -Don't add products and services just for the sake of it.
  • Build affiliate-targeted websites- You add other revenue programs and they dilute your affiliate offers
  • Build effective keyword lists- Dont just target a few general keywords with a high volume, but rather, several niche keywords with a low volume.
  • Build personal relationships with the merchants you work with.- Treat them as business partners rather than your source of income.
  • Although you will make a lot of money within a short space of time, it takes a lot of work. - Set realistic goals baased on your experience, commitment and financial situation.

Good Luck!
