Never Too Late To Get Started in Affiliate Marketing

I was rummaging through a forum one day when I came upon a question by one of the forum members who happened to be an Affiliate Marketing Newbie. He basically  asked:"Is it too late to get started in affiliate marketing?" I'd say it's never too late to get started in affiliate marketing. Listen, no venture is ever too late, and affiliate marketing is no different. You just need to  put together with a solid plan and the cash should start rolling in..
I'm going to tell you a little story. Rosalind Gardner,  a super affiliate and author of the best selling Super Affiliate Handbook , was in a similar position. After working at a dead-end job as an air controller for 20 yrs she decided she had had enough. With retirement  not too far off, she realized there was no way she could survive retirement on her pension from her air controller job. so one day she quit her job and ventured into affiliate marketing where she's making a fairly comfortable living. All this came about because she  put together a solid plan and she didn't panic.

So as you can see from my little narrative, it's never too late to get  into affiliate marketing.  However, there are a few things you need to do to get started .

Find a Niche

Find a topic that you're passionate about. you're must be passionate about it to the point where it is running through your veins. It could be fishing, traveling, physical fitness, e.t.c. If you're not sure about of the top of your head, I suggest you sit down and brainstorm. Get a pen and paper and list every single topic or hobby that you like. Once you do that you can narrow it down to one or tow, maybe three hobbies that you'd like to get started. with. If you 're still not sure about which topic to choose, I suggest you download Ken Evoy's free Affiliate Free Masters Course and use its excellent advice to choose a niche that  interests you. You'd be better off printing it out because the material is quite comprehensive. You're planning your business so take your time

You need to do due diligence on your competitors. No, I'm not talking spying CIA style. I mean you need to find who your competitors are. Let's say you  want to do a site on Real Estate. You get into Google and find out who your competitors in Real Estate are.  Then you ask yourself? "Can I come up with a more interesting site than these guys? Can devise a new approach? new angle?" These are questions  you should consider. Whatever you decide could determine whether you  outrank your competitors in the Google sweepstakes or not. To check out who your competition is I  seochat's free online tool .

Pick a Profitable Niche

Not only should you pick a  niche but you should pick a profitable niche.  You need to pick a niche that will bring you great financial rewards.  This is where keyword research comes in. Type in keywords or phrases that internet users are typing into search engines. In this case  you're puting yourself in the shoes of  the users. the keywords/phrases in your website must match with theirs in other for them to access your website. In fact, you need to do this before you start building your website.  If you're looking for a tool that will help you in this regard I suggest Google's free adwords tool.

Build an interesting website

Yes, build an interesting website with the view of solving people's problems. Yes, I know you need the money. however, you don't want to look like you're making a sales pitch. People are hungry for information, and the more you satisfy their hunger, the more they'd be willing to buy from you. Your site must be content-driven and key-word rich such that internet users can find them in the search engines. Most importantly, let your personality flow through the site. Have fun  writing the content. Remember  doing something that you love shouldn't be work.
Blogs Rating

So as you can see, it's not too late to get started in affiliate marketing. There is no age limit as far as affiliate marketing is concerned. You just need to follow the above steps and the cash will start rolling in.

How much traffic do I need to be prosperous in Affiliate Marketing?

One morning   I was wondering through the affiliate marketing forums and one forum member posed this interesting question " How much traffic do I need to make money as an affiliate marketer?" My first reaction was like" hmmm I wish I knew the answer to that."  The thing is if everybody knew the answer to this question, we'll  all be multi-billionaires wont we?. The solution to this question is not etched in stone.. there are so many factors to consider when calculating future profit  projections. Here are a few things for your consideration.

What  Am I Marketing?

Yes"What Am I Marketing". You need to consider the type of product you are promoting and whether there is a market. Let's say you decide to promote  super affiliate Rosalind Gardner's  best seller Super Affiliate Handbook.  First,   you need to decide whether the book is what aspiring marketers want to read. This is where background research comes in. you read reviews of those who have purchased and read the book. Once you decide that this is the book aspiring marketers want, you then decide how you are going to market the book. Am  I going to do this  through my blog? website, SEO? Forums?, these are questions you need to think about.

Am I using the right keywords?

The next question to consider while making those projections is "Am I using the Right keywords?" your keywords must be relevant enough for people to search your website and purchase your products assuming the content matches what you're selling. if your keywords bears no relation to your  affiliate site, it will be difficult for your customers to find you. Most importantly, use keywords that have very little competition. In other words, use keywords that the big boys are not using. In so doing, you put yourself at the top of the pack, and increase your chances of  profitability. Looking for a keyword research tool to help you solve your keyword problems? I suggest Traffic Travis.

Traffic Quality Not Traffic Quantity

One Affiliate Marketer once put it best "Traffic to the online marketer is like air to the human. You need air to live. If you breath fresh air, clean air, you will enjoy a better quality of life and live longer than if you breathed polluted air."  This statement certainly applies to your affiliate site as well. You need to focus on the quality of your traffic....not its quantity. Just because you get a lot of traffic doesn't necessarily mean you have what they are looking It's okay  to target mothers with toys. But what type of mothers are you targeting? New mothers? mothers of teenage/adult children? These are questions you need to think about.

So your online prosperity has nothing whatsoever to do with their amount of traffic you're getting. Your prosperity depends on the product you are marketing, the appropriate keywords, and the quality of your traffic. If your promotional efforts are focused on the right people, you should be able to make your projections based on that strategy.

'Should I or Shouldn't I Promote Low- Priced Products?

One day as you're doing research online on which affiliate products to choose,   a strange question pops up in your head. the question says  'Should I or Shouldn't I Promote Low- Priced Products?'  Then you say to yourself' This important because it's the difference between prosperity paradise and poverty purgatory.' Here is my take on this situation.

If you want to promote  low-priced products, make sure your  website/blog traffic is humongous.  You can only succeed with low-priced products  if  you receive a lot of visitors and you've been in this Affiliate Marketing business long enough. Let's say, for arguments sake, you're promoting the best selling Super Affiliate Handbook which goes for, say,  $20 and  your commission cut is about 20%. This suggests that you are not going to get a whole lot out of this deal.  If you want to make a ton out of this arrangement you have to make  a lot of sales daily, which is a tall order , especially if you are just starting out. Y  You'd be lucky if you are able to break even with this arrangement.

Most  affiliate marketing observers suggest that you promote products that are hot with a solid price. Let's say you're selling a hot product which costs about $1000 and you sell 10 of these products  with the incentive of a 20% commission. From where I sit, I'd say you're sitting pretty. The import is that less traffic with huge sales will create for you a nice nest egg. That  does not mean you should go for high-priced products just to fleece your buyers. You want to sell them products that are good value for money and which will last them a life time.

However, promoting hot products with high price tags requires  a bit of effort and some blood and sweat. You have to offer your prospective buyers some freebies for them to cough up their cash for you. You could offer them a free report or a newsletter informing them of the latest products on your website. You can achieve this by  providing an opt-in form on your website for them to fill. Once you have accomplished that you then do follow ups by updating your subscribers on the latest content on your website. Only then will they consider buying your product. Speaking of freebies, how about downloading this free Special report on Affiliate Marketing?  Perfect for affiliate marketers who have hit a wall with their affiliate Marketing business.

So as you can see, it does not pay to promote low-priced products if you are just starting  out in Affiliate Marketing and your website/blog traffic is very small. To do so will land you in poverty hell. Your website must command serious traffic for you to even break even, let alone make a lot of sales on these products  Promote  high-priced products which give good value for money and you will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Get Acquainted with your Product

Ask most affiliate marketers about the secret behind their success and they’ll give you this simple slogan ‘GET ACQUAINTED WITH YOUR PRODUCT!” Yes, you need to have intimate knowledge of the product that you want your prospective customers to  buy. Not to mention the fact that you have to target your product to a specific segment of the online world.   Again, you have to know who this segment is and whether they really need your product. This requires some legwork to figure that out.

If I were a customer and I saw came across this product you are promoting online, the question I’d ask you right away is “Why in the world should I buy your product?” After all, there are so many online stores and emarkets jockeying for my money including you, I might add. In other words, you have to come up with a compelling enough reason that supersedes anything your other competitors are saying to sway me to buy your product. Dont just ask me to show you the money. You have to convince me as to why I should show you the money.

Learn Everything Possible About Your Product

The best way to make me buy your product is to learn everything possible about your product. Yes, you need to show me that you are an expert in your field. Just like super affiliate, Rosalind Gardner, who happens to be the author of the best selling Super Affiliate Handbook, you need to show me that what you’re telling me about your product is the gospel truth. You can accomplish this through product reviews where you tell me your experience in using this product and how you’ve benefited from it. This is a perfect way of establishing your credibility and showing me that you can be trusted. You can also enhance your credibility through useful tips with the view to get me to buy your product. These tips must bear some relation to the product you are promoting otherwise I am not going to buy your product.

Get To Know Your Customers

Now that you know your product like the back of your hand, there is one more hurdle you need to overcome. You need to know your customers.  You need to find about the people who you’re trying to sell your product too. How do you do this? By paying attention to information such as website statistics reports, search engine results, customer feedback, e.t.c. These pieces of information are very crucial as they tell you what their buying habits are like. Search engine results are probably the most important as they give you a rough idea of their product preferences. If you find they have a high preference for one particular product, you’d be better off focusing on that particular product. Their wish should be your command

Traffic Volume

Another method of gauging customer preference is pages with the highest traffic volume.  That tells how appealing your products are.  Once you figure out the page with the highest traffic volume, you concentrate on promoting that page. Again, their wish should be your command.

So, success in affiliate marketing is more than just inserting links and banners. You need to know your product and your audience. Once you’ve figured these two out, you should be laughing all the way to the bank

A few Facts of Life about Affiliate Marketing

Word has it that Affiliate marketing is an absolute gold mine and that there is serious cash to be made. Well, in a way it's true. However, it's not going to happen overnight. It takes hard work, dogged persistence, , blood. and   loads of sweat. Let me debunk a few myths about Affiliate Marketing that are being peddled around.

Affiliate Marketing is a Walk in the Park.
Let me disabuse your mind. Affiliate marketing is definitely not a walk in the park. oh! sure, once you have  done all the legwork, you can put your  website  or blog in autopilot and sit back as the cash rolls in. But let me warn you that in the beginning you'll need to sweat blood and tears.  You'll need to select appropriate affiliate programs that best fits your website/blog. And you'll need a good to head to do that.  Also remember you have a lot of competition out there looking to take your share of the pie and grab the very consumers that you're chasing after. So you need to work double hard to stay ahead of the pack Looking for a book that shows you how to do that and then more? I suggest  Roseline Gardner's  Super Affiliate Handbook.

One Affiliate Program is Enough to be Prosperous
WRONG! The unpredictability of Affiliate Marketing makes it absolutely essential that  you sign up for more than affiliate program. Let's say you sign up for an affiliate program promoting herbs. You're doing so well for a few months and all of a sudden the program goes bust!  I can imagining you pulling all your hair out as if the world has come to an end. Do a little window shopping and choose say. 3 or four herb affiliate programs pr that you think are good enough- after care research of course. Most importantly, they must complement each other.. If you're unsure of where to to look, try associateprograms.com. It's got a great directory of affiliate programs of different categories.

The More Affiliate Programs I have The More Cash  I'll Get
Now I know I said earlier that one affiliate program may not be enough  to give young prosperity in this business. At the same time, you need to understand that too much of a good thing can be bad for your prosperity health. You may get so excited about getting rich overnight that you'll ende\ up plastering your website/blog with all kind of affiliate program links and banners.  Well, I've got bad news for you. The more products you have on your website/blog, the more confused, your readers will get. And even worse, the more likely that they may not buy through you. They may also suspect that you're just trying to get rich quick. Talk about a sixth sense! So give them a few choices to peruse over, and they just might give you the cash that you so crave. You want to give them the best offers available.

It's possible to make a comfortable living from Affiliate Marketing

Choose A Niche For Your Affiliate Site

You've heard there is a lot of money to be made in Affiliate Marketing. So you immediately sign up for a bunch of Affiliate Marketing programs that have absolutely nothing to do with the content on your website. A few months later you check your reports and you discover you haven't made a dime. And you ask yourself  'Now How is that possible?

Simple answer: Choose a niche for your affiliate site. You need to decide a niche for your affiliate site before you even decide putting together your affiliate site, never mind signing on affiliate programs. It's like building a house without a foundation. you have to decide who you are going to target before you start typing. I'm sure your next question will be "What in the world is that?"  Well, I'm going to tell you what a niche is and then show you how to choose a niche.

What is  a Niche?

Well, basically a niche is a specific segment of people searching the web for specific information to a problem. Your job as  as a prospective owner of the affiliate site is to identify the general market that you want to promote your affiliate site in and then seek out the niche within that market. That niche is what your affiliate site will be about. The neat thing about carving a niche for yourself is that you get to claim that niche for yourself. Instead of slugging it out in a crowded niche where you risk getting lost in that crowd you identify a niche withing  a market where you believe you can succeed and prosper. For instance I have a blog called Laptop Mechanic which seeks to identify and resolve the problems of peoples laptops. Now I decided to get into Technology since I'm a Technology junkie and I love gadgets. However, Technology is too huge  a market so I narrowed it down to computers. Again, I was like 'naaah, computers is too broad. I need to narrow it down some more.' So I said to myself 'Let me touch on fixing and solving laptop problems." And it's been a blast ever since. I made sure I identified a niche that I could succeed in and be passionate about. Once I identified that niche I then signed up  with affiliate programs related to the content on my blog.

How To Choose a Niche

To choose a niche, you first decide on a general market you want to  want promote your affiliate site. Next, narrow it down to a specific sector of that market, your niche and then create your affiliate site around that market. So let's say for instance(and this just an example) that you want to go into Internet Marketing. Now Internet Marketing is one huge market out there which so you have to narrow it down to a small niche within this market, that being Affiliate Marketing. Even further, let's say you want to go into health. Now health is way too broad so we narrow it down to, say herbal medicines. the important factor here is to narrow it as far down to as specific a niche as possible that way the content on your affiliate site is more targeted. Also,  you avoid slogging it out with the big boys and risk being lost in the crowd..  Your ultimate goal is to gain as many visitors as possible in a small niche and make tons of money in no time.

So before you start dreaming about dollars you need to choose a niche for your affiliate site before you  start signing up for affiliate programs. Decide what your website is going to be about and who you're going to reach before you e\put your content together. Do this and you will be laughing all the way to the bank.

How to Do Keyword Research For Real

Last time, I  talked about keywords and its importance to your online presence. This time I'm going to show you how to do keyword research for real. Here we go:

Write a List

First, you need to compile a list of keywords  that you going to use for your website. They also represent the niche that you want to get into. Just open up Microsoft word and list them line by line. This is important because you will want to refer back to these words while you keep track of your keyword research results.

Find Yourself a Keyword Research Tool

There are key advantages of using a keyword research tool. First it offers elaborate information about your competitors in terms  as to what kind of keywords they're using.. That way you can make necessary changes to your keyword list if you have to. Also  the keyword research tool gives you the rundown on the number of searches for your keywords for a particular month, and how much money you'll make each time your ads are clicked.I suggest you try Google Adwords. It's the best out there. Just google Adwords and download it for free.

Do The Research

Start entering the keyword or keyword phrases into the keyword research tool. Make sure you enter one keyword/keyword phrase at a time to get the best results while doing your keyword research. our keywords, you type in the research tool and click 'keyword ideas' just to see how many searches have been done So  if Super Affiliate Handbook is one of your  keywords you type it in the research tool.  Upon completion of this session, add one column to  record the cost per click of each keyword that you researched to calculate the amount of money you could earn for the ad using that keyword.

Make Sense Out of the Research

By 'Make Sense of Research' I mean Analyze the Research. You need to break down the results of your keyword research and make use of it.  While doing your analysis, look out for two important factors. first:

Search Volume

This refers to the number of searches browsers performed on a specific keyword/keyword phrase. Pay attention to keywords that have a high search volume because this suggests that  a lot of people are searching for information on them.
High Paying keywords

High paying keywords connotes keywords that will help  your cash register. You do not want a keyword that is highly subscribed otherwise you'll be lost in the search wilderness. Instead go for a keyword that will attract less competition and give you a better chance of staying at the top of the search charts. Let's say you use a keyphrase such as Super Affiliate Handbook, make sure it's a keyword phrase that will help you climb up the charts. If not, try another alternative .  Looking for a reliable keyword research tool, I suggest Wordpot.

As you can see keyword research is absolutely crucial to the cash register of your online business. Failure to do it right and you could end up in virtual(internet) poverty. Follow the above directions and you'll do just fine

Keywords: What are They?

Keywords:what are they? well, keywords  are part of the information search engines use when they include your website  on their search results.Let's say you go on Google  or some other search engine and you type in a phrase called Super Affiliate Handbook  . Google then generates and displays the web pages that bear the phrase.  Super Affiliate Handbook.  . that, ladies and gentlemen, iscalled a keyword phrase or search term. Other  non-phrase words or single words are also called keywords or search terms. If you think keywords are not important to your Affiliate Marketing prosperity and website traffic prospects, think again. They're absolutely critical. In fact, before you put  fingers to keyboard, you need to decide which keywords or phrases you're going to use in your websites or blogs. They're absolutely key in  determining whether you reach prosperity or eternal poverty.

Why Should  I Take Keyword research seriously?

You should take keyword research seriously as  keywords.key phrases are the means by which you get targeted traffic to your affiliate website. Keywords are also the means by which people looking for your product use to find  your website. As  cyberindian .com  indicated, it is almost like looking up your number in a telephone book with the keyword/keyphrase being your phone number and the search engine acting as the telephone book.  Most importantly, keywords/key phrases determine how high your wbsite ranks in the google sweepstakes. Your keywords must also bear relevance to the product and information on your website.

How Do I Choose Keywords For My Website?

Well, you will have to pick your customer's brain. here.  Put yourself in your customer's shoes by brainstorming on the type of keywords/phrases that they'll type  when looking for you in Google or any other search engine.  To accomplish that, you'll need a keyword tool. Through this tool, you can tell how many people or companies are using your selected keyword. the key here is to use keywords/phrases that nobody is using. Failure to do that and nobody is going to find you on Google. If you're looking for a keyword research tool that will help you climb the search ranks I suggest Wordpot . It will Make your keyword research that much easier.

How Do I know That People Are Searching For My Keywords?

When webmasters are linking back to your website. By that I mean the number of sites that link to your website determine the popularity of your website. This is what Google  uses to rank websites. To get other webmasters to link to your website would require what we call Reciprocal Linking where webmasters agree to place links on each other's websites. To find out how to do this,  check out  http://www. reciprocallink.com.

Another factor determining the popularity of your website is whether the keywords  people are searching for fit the keywords in the pages for your website. So that if someone types   a keyword called $1000 that  should exist in any of the pages of my website for it to show up on the search results. Something you need to keep in mind for your keyword research  is that google crawls individual pages not just websites.

So the stronger your keywords, the better the chances of your website being ranked.
Cheers!

How Do I convert Viral Marketing into Profits?

When you talk about Viral Marketing the first thing that comes to most people’s heads is “well, that's when you use word of mouth to inform people of your product right?"? Well, that’s right except that viral marketing has moved on from word of mouth. Viral Marketing has gone virtual now; you can pass the message about your  on through the internet. You can do that  through your website newsletter, products, e.t.c. The virtual world carries the same effect like word of mouth except that with the internet your message travels beyond borders and continents if done right. Here are a few virtual tools you could utilize to  convert your viral marketing into profits.

Email

This is probably the fastest and easiest tool to use to market your product. It's especially if it's fun or cost-free. Just make an offer to  your customer  that is worthy of sharing like a special discount, a freebie or timely information and your customer will pass it on to friends and friends will pass it on to other friends, making the message spread like wild fire. More importantly, it could translate into more cash. Just make sure you don’t add   "Feel free to forward this message to a friend". The worthiness of the offer ought to speak for itself. For an effective email viral campaign I suggest you get an autoresponder.  This way you can better plan your email marketing schedule.  Not sure of which autoresponder to choose, I suggest Listwire. It's free. Click the banner below.

List Wire - Get Your Free Autoresponder

Ebooks could also help create a viral surge. Especially when it’s free.  Even if it’s something you composed, downloaded from the internet, or re-written from plr (or private label rights) material, be sure to add your marketing message and the link to your website. Once a customer gets a hold of the information, he could pass on the ebook to his friends, who in turn pass it on to their friends, thus creating a tsunami of sorts. Hopefully this tsunami will convert into cash for you.

Writing articles to promote your product can also create a viral effect for your product. It can also affect your viral promotion in two ways.  First, you build credibility with your readers and second, they come to trust you. You become like a member of the family so to speak. Just make sure you attach your resource box at the end of your article together with a link to your website or opt-in page.

Also give your readers  to reprint your article with your resource box and your website link intact in their website, ezine, newsletter, e.t.c. You’ll be amazed at the humongous traffic writing articles and having your articles reprinted will create for your product, which of course will translate into ‘moola’(or cash). To get your articles read, just submit them to article directories online. I suggest you join ezinearticles.com or articlesbase. They come highly recommended. If you're looking for software to help you quickly generate quality and unique articles for the search engines you'd be better off with Article Generator   .  If you have no idea about article marketing and would like to learn I suggest you get a hold of  Beginners Guide to Article Marketing  . You’ll learn all there is to know about Article Marketing.

Blogging

Use your blog to get the word  out about your product. If you want to create an even bigger viral wave, find a blog with high traffic to promote your product on as a guest blogger You need to get his permission first though. Your blog posts should be interesting to cause them to head towards your website.  Leave your resource box or link to your website and your readers will definitely head in your website’s  direction

Do I Need a Mailing List?

You're a newbie who just put up his first affiliate site and you're expecting a flood of visitors to your site. Oh sure they'll show up at your site alright  except for one teeny little problem. You don't have a mailing list. Your next reaction will be  What is a mailing list? and do I need a mailing list?. Okay, one question at a time: I'm going to address them all.

First,

What is a mailing list?

Well, a mailing list is a collection of names and email addresses which  Internet Marketers and other online entrepreneurs  like yourselves capture at their websites and use to promote their products. Basically, visitors visit your website and if they're interested , they fill the email subscription form on your website. Let's say you selling a book called Super Affiliate Handbook on your website.. You draw people to your website and they say "well, I think I'm interested in this book". So they sign up on your mailing list to subscribe to your newsletter. T By signing up to your newsletter they're expecting updates on other products and other articles on your website.

Now Why Would I want to Build a Mailing List?

I Still Havent Made My First Sale As An Affiliate Marketer

So you've been trying to struggling to make your first sale as an affiliate marketer but you still dont hear your  cash register ringing. So you say your yourself 'I still havent made my first sale as an affiliate marketer. Is Affiliate Marketing for real or what?' or 'I think this whole Affiliate  marketing thing is a sham.' Well, My research tells me that Affiliate Marketing is still alive and kicking. That people are joining the online gravy train by the day. So just to remind you, I'll  rehash the things you need to do to make your first sale in affiliate marketing

Find An Affiliate Product That Sells

Seek an affiliate product that is doing well on the market. Let's say you find a product such as Super Affiliate Handbook and you're interested in promoting it. Make sure that  you do as much research as possible about the handbook; and   get furnished with the statistics as to the marketability of the product. Once you are satisfied it's the product you want to promote, then go ahead and sign up for the affiliate program. Besides, you'll have a much easier time promoting the product since it is selling well on the market. Just make sure the product fits with the whole theme of your website/blog. If the product  promotes weight loss make sure your website/blog  conveys the same message.

Research Keywords

Research keywords and keyword phrases that people type in  search engines like google when they are looking for information pertaining to the product you're promoting..  So in other words, when they type in a  keyword phrase such as Super Affiliate Handbook , that keyword phrase should show up in the search results, assuming off course, that you chose the right keyword, or keywords..
Of course you need a keyword tool to help you with your keyword research. And one keyword researchtool that I highly recommend is Keyword NinjaIt should help you come up with more targeted keywords and keyword phrases.

Article Marketing
Article Marketing is a very effective way of drawing traffic and translating into sales. All you have to do is write informative articles relating to the product you're promoting. So If you're writing articles about weight loss just make sure it relates to your weight loss product  You need to remember that you're optimizing your keywords for each article you write such that every article must have the keywords you've selected. However, you you do need to provide valuable content for the reader in order to stand a chance of making your first sale. If you're new to article marketing, I suggest purchasing  Beginners Guide to Article Marketing . You'll learn everything there is to know about Article Marketing.

Drop Your Articles in Top Directories

Once you 're done with articles, you then distribute them  to the top article directories,. When you do that, make sure to leave your website link in the resource box section so the reader can  visit your website for additional information. Keep writing consistently and you're abound to draw traffic to your link and make your first sale too.  If you dont want to go through the stress of manually submitting your articles to one directory at a time, I suggest getting software that can help you submit your articles to all the articles directories instantly.  And one article submission software that can help you accomplish this task is Article Submitter . At the click of a button, it'll send your articles off to all the directories all at once.

To conclude, making your first sale as an affiliate marketer is exciting. But you need to follow the right steps to make that first sale. Follow the above procedures and you should make your first sale.

Target Traffic = Sales

Alright, here is the deal. Say, you're  the webmaster of an affiliate marketing site  promoting a book called Super Affiliate Handbook. You are getting decent traffic through your Affiliate Marketing  site. The problem is instead of promoting the super affiliate handbook, you are rather promoting weight products from clickbank. BIG MISTAKE! The simple formula for success in Affiliate Marketing is:  target traffic=sales.

It is absolutely paramount that you give your visitors what they want. When they visit your website/  blog, they are looking for the super affiliate handbook and other affiliate marketing products and not weight loss products. They can go to a weight loss product for that. The crucial factor here is building momentum;  you want to build on the momentum of your website/blog's content by making some sales. The last thing you want to do is to drive your visitors  away by promoting products that are not remotely connected to the content on your website. That will be the death knell to your business.

Also experiment more with the positioning of your affiliate links or banners on your blog/website. This tactic is crucial in determining  high or low your conversion rates are. You could try moving your links/banners around your website/blog to get a gauge of  the conversion rates of some of the products. Chances are some products may convert better than others. However, text links grab .excite readers and they are more likely to click on text links more so than banners. banners tend to be too loud

So remember this formula: target traffic= sales.  There are two things you need to accomplish here. Make sure  your products mirror your content and, most importantly, be sure that the products you're promoting are what they are looking for. Accomplish these two objectives and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Make Money online with residual income

Are you tired of doing working countless hours trying to make money? Do you look forward to a system where you make money even when you're sleep?  make money online with  residual income. Well, basically residual income is earning income from doing a job once. You do a job one time and get paid for it over and over again for a lifetime. Thanks to the Internet you can make money  even when you're asleep, so long as you market your product  properly.v>
Let me show you ways you can make residual income

Sell your rights to your products

This one of the fastest growing residual income programs on the Internet. Basically, you write an ebook on your favorite topic, then you sell the rights to people online so that they can generate income from the sales. This generates residual income for you as you charge them a percentage of the sales that they generate. Or you can also sell them the license  to sell your product within a specified time frame and earn residual income as they renew their license. Even better, you can sell your rights to your book to numerous people simultaneously, generating more residual income at no cost at all.

Two Tier Affiliate Programs
This is also another popular way of making residual income and the easiest. As an affiliate, you'll be promoting other people's products such as Super Affiliate Handbook  and earn a commission for each sale you generate. However, in a two tier affiliate program, not only will you be earning on your own sales, but you will also be earning on the sales of affiliates that sign up under you. For instance, if you earn 50% on your personal sales, you can earn an additional 20%  on sales of affiliates that sign up under you. The more affiliates you bring in, the more residual income you generate, possibly surpassing your own income.

Pay Per Click Ads

This is probably the easiest way to make money online. Basically you place advertisers ads similar to the content on your websites and each time visitors click on the ad you earn revenue for those clicks. The most popular pay per click program is Google Adsense. Just sign your blog or website on the Adsense program at google.com/adsense. And it's free.

Try Text Links Instead of Banners

I was browsing this affiliate forum the other day when I saw this question from a member of the group which basically said"I've had 1000 clicks on my affiliate site but no sales. My mind tells me that I've had sales because I have so many banners on my site." Solution: Try text links instead of banners.

People are after content and the last thing they want is the distraction of banners plastered all over the site. Anything that distracts their search for information and they are off to the next site. Also, banners make your site look unprofessional. They create this video arcade effect with with flashing lights and bells all over the place. Besides,The click rate for banners is less than 6% , although this gentlemen is fortunate. I wish I had 1000 clicks on my banners. This is not to say that banners are not effective. Just don't make them the end all be all of your site promotion campaign.

Wanna know the best solution?

Try Text Links
Try embedding affiliate text links into your content. Your chances of earning commissions are much higher. Readers are more likely to click on your affiliate text link embedded in the content than clicking banners plastered all over the site. Just put some quality content on your site and in the midst of the content , embed your affiliate link. Once your visitors take a liking to your content, they are more likely to click on your affiliate link. You can also place it at the end of the content if you like, but personally I prefer it the link in the middle. Make sure that the content relates to the affiliate link. You cant have an affiliate site promoting weight loss with an affiliate link for a forex company. That would definitely send your visitors somewhere else.  Since this blog is about Affiliate blogging,  how about inserting Rosalind Gardner's Super  Affiliate Handbook? It's a must have for  affiliate marketers of all levels.

So as you can see from above, text links will get you you more prosperity than banners. Banners make for too much noise and chaos. They'll definitely cause your visitors to hit the click button in a canter. So think text links at all times.

10 Reasons to Have an Ezine

  1.   Establish yourself as a trusted expert. People search online for information and will look to you, as a trusted  expert, to provide it to them. Every week (or whatever schedule works) provides an opportunity to build on this, while reinforcing your brand.
  2. Build a relationship with the people on your list. It's common knowledge that people like to buy from people they like. By using ezines to connect with readers in their homes, you can develop a relationship of familiarity and trust with the people on your list.. Be sure to share a little about yourself or your company in every issue, whether it is an anecdote, event, or employee spotlight.
  3. Keep in touch with prospects and clients. Consideration should be given to eventually developing two ezines: one for prospects and one for clients, as each require different information. This is a great way to notify your readers of weekly specials or upcoming product launches, offer new articles or customer stories, and provide links (or urls) to updated FAQs, blogs and splash pages.
  4. Drive traffic to your website or blog. As noted in #3, remember to call attention to new blog posts or other changes to your website with links directly to those pages. Remind readers of your online newsletter archives. Promote special sales (maybe with discount coupon codes only for subscribers) with a link to the sales page. Use links to turn your ezines and newsletters into "silent salespersons"– driving traffic to your website and building your lists around the clock.
  5. Build content on your website. Build content on your website by  adding your ezines and newsletters to your website in an archive area. This serves a several important purposes:
    • Visitors can read an issue or two to determine if your ezine will be of interest to them, which could help to increase sign-ups and potential sales.
    • If you optimize your article placements, you will not only make your website "meatier", but you'll also bring new traffic from the search engines.
  6. Get feedback from your readers. Get feedback from your customers  by staying  in touch with prospects and customers and vice versa. Ask them to take action and comment on your articles and offers. Conduct polls and surveys. Start a "Letters to the Editor" column in your ezine. Feedback allows you to fine tune your messages, target your marketing, and expand your product line. It's also great for relationship building!
  7. Develop an information product. If you deliver your newsletter once a week and include two articles, at the end of a year you'll have 104 well-researched articles in your portfolio! Pick the best-of-the-best and turn them into a bonus ebook for opting-in to your list, submit to download sites to build your list, or sell in PDF-format!
  8. Grow your mailing list. Grow your mailing list by letting your ezine subscribers work for you. Be sure to remind your readers that it's okay to forward your newsletter to anyone they'd like. In addition, it's important to include sign-up instructions for those who received your ezine from viral marketing methods. A simple line titled, "Get Your Own Copy of XXXXXX", with a link to your squeeze or opt-in page is all it takes!
  9. Gather demographic data. By offering surveys, feedback forms, and niche reports, you'll be able to get valuable information about your prospects and customers. Learn what makes your readers tick, how to better serve them, and how to give them what they want. Make sure they become repeat customers!
  10. Save money! All of the above benefits of publishing an ezine are free or almost free. The small cost of a top-rated ezine publishing system is nothing compared to the cost of brochures, business cards, advertising, direct mail, pay-per-click or other means of promotion. Not only that, but someone has to manage that production! Because your newsletter is delivered online, you can grow your list to be as large as you want without worrying about the expense. Bottom line − it's proven that email marketing is the most cost-effective marketing solution for companies just like yours!

15 Ways to Buld Your Subscriber List

Email marketing can be profitable for any business, no matter what kind of product or service you offer. It is significantly cheaper than other advertising methods and, if done right, helps build loyalty and trust with customers. As a result, you generate more sales and more profits!
The foundation for successful email marketing is a targeted, permission-based email list. Marketers call contact lists their "goldmine" because it can generate much of their sales revenue. If you've built up a list of opt-in subscribers that are qualified and interested in what you have to offer, then you've completed the first step and are on your way. Now it's time to "mine" for gold!
Below  are 15 ways to build your subscriber list.
  1. Provide useful, relevant content. Your visitors will not give you their email addresses just because they can subscribe to your newsletter free of charge. You have to provide unique and valuable content that will be of interest or use to them.
  2. Add a subscription form to every page on your website. Make sure  that the subscription form stands out so it is easy to find. If it doesn't look cluttered, you may want to include more than one on some pages. For instance, if your opt-in form always appears in the top-left corner of your site, you may want to add one at the end of your most popular articles.
  3. Add subscription forms to your social media pages. Make sure that you don't waste this valuable source of revenue opportunities. Integrate your sign-up forms with Facebook and more!
  4. Make it easy for readers to sign up. The more information you request, the fewer readers  will opt-in. In most cases, a name and an email address should suffice. If it's not necessary, don't include it here. You can always survey them once they're customers! We do recommend that you provide a link to your Privacy Policy however.
  5. Publish a Privacy Policy. Let your readers know that they can be confident you will not share their information with others. The easiest way to do this is to set up a Privacy Policy web page and provide the link to it below your opt-in form. (Note: If you don't have one, put the words "privacy policy generator" into a search engine and you should be able to find a suitable form to use.)
  6. Provide samples of your newsletters and Ezines. This lets potential subscribers review yoursamples before they sign up to determine if it's something they'd be interested in.
  7. Archive past newsletters and articles. An online library of past newsletters and articles is both appealing and useful to visitors and builds your credibility as an authority. In addition, if your articles are written with good SEO techniques in mind, they can increase traffic to your website through enhanced search engine positioning.
  8. Give gifts subscribers can actually use. Offer  opt-in gifts for joining your subscriber list! Write an ebook or provide a PDF business report, or even hire a programmer to create downloadable or web-based software. But don't limit yourself to offering gifts to opt-ins. Give them out when your readers fill out a survey, provide a testimonial, success story, or a great product idea. Let them know when they can expect the next gift offer. Everyone likes to get something for free! And if you pass out "goodies" throughout the year, your subscribers will feel truly appreciated − and that's good for business!
  9. Ask your subscribers to pass it on. Word of mouth is a powerful viral technique that works great with email marketing. If your subscribers find your content interesting, amusing or informative, they'll probably pass it on  with their friends. This can be a great source of new customers, so make sure to remind them to "pass it on".
  10. Let others reprint your newsletter as long as the content is not modified. If you're happy to share your content with the universe, then why not! Many webmasters and newsletter publishers are actively looking for high-quality content and, if they reprint your newsletter, you'll get new subscribers, and more traffic and links pointing to your site.
  11. Include a "Sign Up" button in your newsletter. If you're using plain text instead of HTML, be sure to provide a text link to your subscription page. You may feel that this is not required because the subscriber is already on your list, but remember that readers will forward your newsletters to others, or reprint them online. Make it easy for them to sign up.
  12. Add a squeeze page. A squeeze page has one goal − to acquire opt-ins and build your list. Think of it as a mini-sales letter to go along with your subscription or opt-in gift. It should feature a strong headline and a couple of powerful benefits that should make subscribers salivate to sign up! Once created, use a service such as WordTracker to find hundreds of targeted keywords, and promote your offer using pay-per-click advertising from Google, MSN and Yahoo. Now that should make a splash!
  13. Include testimonials on your squeeze page. This is crucial. Put one or two strong testimonials from satisfied customers on your squeeze page. This can be in any format, but you may find that multimedia (audio or video) is more "believable" and inspires more people to action. To further enhance believability, get permission to use actual customer names, locations and/or urls (Don't use "Bob K, FL"). Add a note inviting others to participate. After all, it's free publicity!
  14. Blog religiously. Blogging is a great way to communicate with prospects and potential customers, and creates a nice synergy with your email marketing. Be sure to include your newsletter sign-up form on each page of your blog. You can start a free blog at Blogger or WordPress.
  15. Post on other blogs. Post thoughtful comments and information on similar blogs with a link to your squeeze or opt-in pages. Also comment on others' blogs through trackbacks. In most cases, your comments will be posted on their blogs with a link back to your site. This is an easy way to generate new traffic and subscribers, and get your brand out there!

Dont Put all Your Eggs in One Basket

So you're getting this huge paycheck from probably the one and only affiliate marketing program. And u think "well, I don't need to sign up for any other affiliate programs. I'll live on this paycheck." Wrong decision. Don't put all your eggs in one basket The internet is very unpredictable in this regard. So many things could unravel all the hard work, blood and sweat you've put into your affiliate website all these years.

This phenomenon occurs due to the following reasons:

  • Your favorite merchant going bust
  • Your one and only hosting company goes bust leaving you with nothing
  • demand for your affiliate product dries up
  • You lose your search engine rankings due to unexpected changes in the search engine
So how do you avoid such a catastrophe?
  • Choose at 5  good affiliate programs for starters. The likelihood of all these programs collapsing is significantly reduced.
  • VARY your affiliate programs among different industry goods to prevent unforeseen calamities hitting all of them at the same time
  • Register for two or more domains so that if one collapses, you have the other for backup
  • Diversify your traffic options. Try pay per click, classifieds, e.tc. Don't depend on one source of traffic.
I suggest you read  Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook.  It contains valuable information on how to get around this problem and much more. So  dont put all your eggs in one basket

Happy hunting!

How to find the right affiliate marketing programs

If you want to make those thousands of dollars promoting affiliate products, make sure you find the right affiliate programs. But the big question is how? Here is how to find the right affiliate marketing programs.
  • Huge commission. Consider the dollar amount you get paid for each commission. At first glance, it may seem like a good deal, but it's not always the case. A lower commission on a high-priced product may make you more money than a higher commission on a low-priced product
Also consider number of sales. Is the product going to boom or bust?
  • One-tier versus two-tier programs. with a one-tier program, you're only paid for product sale you refer. But in a two- tier program, not only do you get paid for product sales that you refer, you also get paid for a percentage of sales that "sub-affiliates who sign up under you. How sweet that sounds?
  • Residual income commissions. Residual  commissions are commissions paid by affiliate programs offering what are called 'renewable products.' Meaning that you receive a commission each time a customer comes back to buy the same product, you still get paid. Instead of getting paid for the initial sale, you 'll get paid each times he comes back to buy the same product. It all adds up for you in a big way.
  • Payout schedule. Make sure the merchants you represent pay on time. Some programs only cut a check at a specific. time. Some companies take months to pay you when you earn a huge commission, if you're uncomfortable with that, find an affiliate program that can make you comfortable regardless of the size of your commission.
  • Cookie Tracking. Cookies are small files with your affiliate ID located on your visitors' computers. Anytime a customer purchases a product, you're immediately credited for the sale through the cookie tracking system. The length of cookie tracking varies from program to program. So make sure you find programs that have long cookie tracking periods.
