Social Bookmarking in Affiliate Marketing

It's a bit strange that social bookmarking has been around all these years and yet affiliate marketers are not taking full advantage of this traffic goldmine. With social bookmarking, you can spread your content, articles, and blog posts on high ranking sites to boost your own ranking on Google and other search engines. Another cool characteristic of bookmarking is the ability to add tags  to each submission that you make. These tags categorizes your content and make it easier for readers to find. Tagging also helps your content listed with similar posts which also act as inbound links. So the higher the ranking of sites linking your content, the higher the page ranking of your site. Here is how to use social bookmarking in Affiliate Marketing.

  • Post your article or blog to your site
  • If you are on Facebook, share the title of your article and your article URL with your friends. When they  comment, like, or share your post, their friends also see it and do the same. This creates a viral effect which could quadruple your traffic. If you are not on Facebook better sign up NOW! You are missing out on a huge gravy train.
  • You can also create a fan page on Facebook for fans t comment, share and like. This creates interaction between you and your fans. Just make sure you keep the interaction going.
  • You can also post  the title of your article and your article URL to your Twitter account. Tweeting your post gets people to retweet it and comment, giving your article more exposure. Just be nice enough to retweet other people posts for them retweet yours. More like give and take. If you dont have a twitter account,  do it NOW!
  • Submit your article title and its URL to major social bookmarking sites such as Digg.com,  delicious.comReddit.comStumbleUpon.comdiigo.com, and LinkedIn.  If you don't have an account with neither of them I suggest you do it NOW! Once you login, you can submit your content in all of them, which in turn, will help boost your page ranking in the search engines.
  • You then post your Digg submission of Facebook and Twitter asking your friends to dig it for you, which creates more traffic for you. The more you 'Digg', retweet, and bookmark your friends posts, the larger your traffic build up.  These sights rank quite well on Google which should do your site a lot of good as far as your Google ranking goes.

That's a wrap on "Social Bookmarking in Affiliate Marketing."   If you can get a host of friends and followers to bookmark your articles, your  could climb up the food chain on google. But you also need to help yourself by bookmarking other people's posts. Its' a give and take situation. Like I said earlier, social bookmarking is an area affiliate marketers need to tap as a matter of urgency. Do that, and you'll see traffic rushing to your site in droves!
