Tips For Affiliate Success

For all you guys who think that Internet Marketing is a 'get rich quick business' think again. I read an interview of Jeremy Palmer, the richest affiliate on the net at the moment. He grossed $ One million in commissions alone last year- a whopping amount isn't it? However, if you think he made this money the easy way , here are a few suggestions he proposed about how to be successful in this business.

  • Build highly targeted websites around merchant products -Don't add products and services just for the sake of it.
  • Build affiliate-targeted websites- You add other revenue programs and they dilute your affiliate offers
  • Build effective keyword lists- Dont just target a few general keywords with a high volume, but rather, several niche keywords with a low volume.
  • Build personal relationships with the merchants you work with.- Treat them as business partners rather than your source of income.
  • Although you will make a lot of money within a short space of time, it takes a lot of work. - Set realistic goals baased on your experience, commitment and financial situation.

Good Luck!

Junk Explosion.

It amazes me to no end the huge amount of junkmail piling up in my Inboxes each morning. Every few minutes, they keep pouring into my Inboxes at such alarming speed that I'm left staring in disbelief. I' m sitting there like 'How do these people get a hold of email address?" Then it dawns on me 'my email address is the equivalent of an post office box, and that anyone can gain access to it. Then I think to myself,"Aren't the filters supposed to take of these intruders?" Because it seems no matter how aggressive you get trying to keep them out, they find ways of getting around thosethem (filters). Lately, I have gotten several emails from people thinking I'm female. I take a look at my name, and I ask myself " What's so female about my name" Is it because My name ends with the letter S? Talk about indecent proposals. I also get the usual emails from firms promising me all the cash in the world.

If all wishes were horses, here is how I would deal with this problem.
  • install laserware to shoot down every junkmail that penetrates my cyberspace
  • use tracer software to shoot and destroy any piece of junkmail
  • Finally, freeze the computers of all firms firing junkmail towards my end.

Kinda fun isn't it?

Web Confusion

It seems some people are confusing Web Design with Web Development. Just because you have mastered HTML does instantly make you a Web Developer It takes a whole lot more than that. I remember several years ago I took an introductory course in Web Design covering HTML, CGI, and a bit of CSS. Upon completion of the course, I was really excited. I was like, "World here I come." Approximately, I saw an ad by this online classified advert service about doing websites on contract basis. I said to myself, Wow, this is my kind of job." So that morning I put on my shirt and tie looking forward to being employed. When I got to the company's office, I asked for Remi, the webmaster, and within a few minutes he showed up and asked me to take a seat. A few minutes later, I got the rudest shock of my life. He asked, "Are you familar with ColdFusion," I just stared. Then," Can you design dynamic sites?"Again, I just stared.

I came out of this exercise feeling very depressed. I had never been this humiliated. So for the next four years I learnt HTML, Javascript, CSS, and XML .

If you want to be a full-fledged developer you need to learn HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, server and client scripting. Good luck.
