How to find the right affiliate marketing programs

If you want to make those thousands of dollars promoting affiliate products, make sure you find the right affiliate programs. But the big question is how? Here is how to find the right affiliate marketing programs.
  • Huge commission. Consider the dollar amount you get paid for each commission. At first glance, it may seem like a good deal, but it's not always the case. A lower commission on a high-priced product may make you more money than a higher commission on a low-priced product
Also consider number of sales. Is the product going to boom or bust?
  • One-tier versus two-tier programs. with a one-tier program, you're only paid for product sale you refer. But in a two- tier program, not only do you get paid for product sales that you refer, you also get paid for a percentage of sales that "sub-affiliates who sign up under you. How sweet that sounds?
  • Residual income commissions. Residual  commissions are commissions paid by affiliate programs offering what are called 'renewable products.' Meaning that you receive a commission each time a customer comes back to buy the same product, you still get paid. Instead of getting paid for the initial sale, you 'll get paid each times he comes back to buy the same product. It all adds up for you in a big way.
  • Payout schedule. Make sure the merchants you represent pay on time. Some programs only cut a check at a specific. time. Some companies take months to pay you when you earn a huge commission, if you're uncomfortable with that, find an affiliate program that can make you comfortable regardless of the size of your commission.
  • Cookie Tracking. Cookies are small files with your affiliate ID located on your visitors' computers. Anytime a customer purchases a product, you're immediately credited for the sale through the cookie tracking system. The length of cookie tracking varies from program to program. So make sure you find programs that have long cookie tracking periods.
