You want diversity in choice.   You want to join as many affiliate networks as possible to make sure you income keeps flowing even if one of your merchants goes under.   By joining  more than one affiliate network, you give your affiliate business stability  especially when the hard times come around.

Different Payout Periods
One benefit of joining multiple affiliate networks is the excitement of money flowing into your account every month. Unlike ore two payouts, which put a lot of stress on your business, multiple payouts every month does the exact opposite . Plus you could also get different payout periods such as recurring commission, or one-time commission . Also, you get to access to special bonuses during huge promotions;an even bigger incentive.

Now that we've handled the exciting pros, here comes the sad part-the cons.

Loss of focus
Promoting so may affiliate programs can cause loss of focus. Consequently you have very little time to work on all these programs. So how about sticking with what works rather than something out of nowhere?

Affiliate Networks Promoting the Same Products
One disadvantage of joining multiple affiliate networks is that it does not necessarily  guarantee success;especially with some affiliate networks promoting the same products . Even worse, some of these networks don't have longevity which could lead to disappointment for you.
